This fall I will be going to YWAM Boston for something called a Discipleship Training School (DTS)! YWAM (Youth With A Mission) is a global christian missions organization focused on helping people know God and make him known. YWAM Boston has a special focus on the arts. They encourage using creativity, visual storytelling, and performance to share the gospel in powerful and meaningful ways. That’s one of the big reasons this location felt like the right fit! The things I love doing creatively actually have a place here and that’s been such a cool part of how God’s led me her! The program is about six months long and it is split into two parts. I’ll be spending the first few months just outside Boston in classes, community, prayer, worship, and local outreach. After that I will be traveling for six weeks across the U.S. as part of a gospel centered production called Encounter! This is a collaboration between the visual arts and theater teams at YWAM Boston. We’ll be sharing the production at churches and in communities. Lastly we will spend two weeks in El Salvador. We will be working alongside ministries already doing great things there! I’m especially excited about this chance to learn and serve cross culturally!
